Named as one of the most influential Colombian-Americans in South Florida by The Americas Community Center and Broward County, and awarded as one of the Top 20 professionals younger than 40 in South Florida by Brickell Magazine, Sabina Covo brings on to projects more than fourteen years of broadcast journalism, writing and communications consulting experience, both in the United States and Latin America. Sabina is currently the news presenter for all the affiliated stations to GLR Networks in the US, she is a segment host via RCN International and collaborates with CNN in Spanish, Mega TV hosting Enlace Politico and Relatto.com .
She has been a reporter, TV and radio host news anchor, and correspondent for Telemundo 51 where she started her career in 2000, Mundofox, Cadena Ser, La W y Caracol, La televisión Nacional de Austria, Prisa, Canal Cartagena and ADN Chile. She co-hosted La Ventana in Caracol along Pedro Sevcec from 2008 to 2010. Sabina has interviewed personalities such as Secretary of State Madeline Albright, Colombian Presidents Alvaro Uribe and Juan Manuel Santos or international star Julio Iglesias to name a few. She has covered elections since 2004 including both democratic and republican national conventions. As a panelist, Sabina has been on Mega TV’s implicados, Maria Elvira Show, multiple America Teve Shows, Ricardo Brown on Mundofox and others in Latin America. As a political news anchor Sabina currently covers AN5 in America Teve. She writes a Sunday politics column for EL Nuevo Herald since 2008.
Sabina Covo founded her PR agency COVO PR based in Coconut Grove in 2014 along with her partner entrepreneur Valeria Covo and a natural beauty line, S Natural Oil along with sister and father, both physicians. She has been a spokesperson and PR Manager for Audi Latin America, Avianca Airlines, The Ritz-Carlton Residences and different clients in diverse industries. She has traveled promoting luxury brands. In 2008 she got a Building Our Community Award from international entity March of Dimes for her work within the organization and in 2009 she was nominated by the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce with a “Rising Star Award.”
She sits on the advisory board of the University of South Florida’s Digital Marketing Certificate program, was President for Sharing for Kids.org, collaborates with St. Jude Children’s Hospital and The Everglades Foundation.
She graduated from Florida International University with a Communications and Political Science Degree in 2001.
