Named as one of the most influential Colombian-Americans in South Florida by The Americas Community Center and Broward County, and awarded as one of the Top 20 professionals younger than 40 in South Florida by Brickell Magazine in 2013, Sabina Covo brings on to projects more than fourteen years of journalism, writing and communications consulting experience, both in the United States and Latin America.
She has been a reporter, TV and radio host news anchor, and correspondent for Telemundo 51 where she started her career in 2000, Mundofox, Cadena Ser, La W and Caracol radio, Canal Cartagena and ADN Chile. She co-hosted La Ventana in Caracol along Pedro Sevcec from 2008 to 2010. Sabina has interviewed personalities such as Secretary of State Madeline Albright, Colombian Presidents Alvaro Uribe and Juan Manuel Santos and international star Julio Iglesias to name a few. She has covered elections since 2004 including both democratic and republican national conventions. As a panelist Sabina has been on Mega TV’s implicados, Maria Elvira Show, multiple America Teve Shows, Ricardo Brown on Mundofox and others in Latin America. As a political news anchor Sabina currently covers AN5 in America Teve. She writes a Sunday politics column for EL Nuevo Herald since 2008.
Sabina Covo founded her PR agency Sabina Covo Communications, based in Coconut Grove, in 2014. She has been a spokesperson and PR Manager for Audi Latin America, Avianca Airlines and different clients in diverse industries. She has traveled promoting luxury brands. In 2008 she got a Building Our Community Award from international entity March of Dimes for her work within the organization and in 2009 she was nominated by the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce with a “Raising Star Award.” She graduated from Florida International University with a Communications and Political Science Degree in 2001.
Valeria Covo- CEO, Colombia
Valeria Covo began her career as a political journalist for renowned T.V. and radio outlets such as W Radio, Caracol Radio, NTN24 network, and Mundo Fox. Before founding her own fashion and luxury public relations firm LaBoutiquePR, she worked for The Copy Write Agency, in Miami, and ColectivoPR, in Bogota. Further, Covo joined the logistics team for CatWalkPros, Beth Sobol’s events agency, during Miami International Fashion Week 2013.
Covo holds a Bachelor’s degree in communications and journalism from Bogota’s Universidad Javeriana, an MBA focused on beauty and fashion public relations, and an image and styling certificate from Spain’s Esden Business School. She has written for fashion magazine INKOMODA, and contributed to Colmundo Radio and Vanguardia Liberal newspaper.
Covo currently serves as CEO of COVO Boutique PR Colombia, the only communications agency specialized in fashion and beauty in the country.
