Learning to be happier: Angella Nazarian’s App Teaches How to Improve our Lives

ImageLearning to live life to its full potential could now be possible with the help of your smart phone, laptop or tablet. “My Personal Coach” is a new application for iPhone, iPad and iPod from best-selling author and former professor of psychology Angella Nazarian. The author of Pioneers of the Possible: Celebrating Visionary Women of the World and Life as a Visitor starts from what she calls the five core principles of success, bringing together her creativity and her renowned motivational skills.
Priorities, strengths, thoughts, relationships and the environment build up the application’s sections, which have, as goal, improving the management of the individual’s life. “Personal transformation takes time, accountability, and encouragement. It can happen organically through personal relationships, or through enlisting an outside coach. Since not everyone can afford having a personal coach, I designed the app as a coach that can be carried on the go”, explains Nazarian. The application offers inspirational quotes, a personal survey, and daily challenges. “In L.A., having a coach is getting as popular as having a personal trainer or attending a workshop. Many people want to focus on proactive ways of dealing with present day challenges.”

With an option to set calendar reminders and alerts to track progress and based on studies from Gallop, Meyer- Briggs and Keirsey, the app promises to assist users in discovering their strengths and personality types. For Nazarian, knowing yourself is a good start to changing life’s perspectives; followed by surrounding yourself with people you admire. “I love reading biographies of inspiring leaders – they inspire me to think in new ways and challenge my perceptions. It was out of this inspiration I wrote my second book Pioneers of the Possible: Celebrating Visionary Women of the World.”

Nazarian, an international speaker, has also created dynamic workshops and seminars focused on personal growth and development. Born in Iran, she left her country at the young age of eleven. Faced with Iran’s conflict, she resided in Los Angeles with her older siblings until the arrival of her parents five years later.

She describes her proudest moment in life and inspiration as the day her son, at age eight, gave her a love letter “I keep it in my drawer in my office. He even drew two stick figures hugging each other. To inspire those feelings in another person is a gift onto itself.” She is also an active member of leading cultural, philanthropic and educational institutions in Los Angeles. “There is great power in the life of a person who has the potential to change other people, communities and nations. So, be true to yourself and don’t ever diminish your own potential”, adds the coach.
